» Zeljko: A future within reach for an excellent student

Zeljko is 19 years old and originates from Zadar in Croatia. He is a refugee living in Popinci, Serbia. The only document he possessed was his refugee identity card. Zeljko was an excellent pupil in secondary school and passed his entrance exams for a renowned university. But because Zeljko was unable to show his birth-certificate, he could not register as a student. Consequently, he also had no opportunity to apply for a scholarship. Since his parents aren’t well off, they had no means to travel to Croatia to obtain the necessary documents for Zeljko. The local Microjustice Facilitator helped him to obtain his documents. At presence, Zeljko studies with a scholarship at the Technical University of Belgrade.
