Michiel Verweij studied land and water management and holds an MBA.
He has had an international career as project manager and consultant in water management, sanitation and agriculture in Africa and Latin America. Through his work, he realized that basic legal needs like property rights and being recognized as citizen are essential to any inclusive development endeavour. According to him, it is impossible to invest in water and sanitation if large numbers of people have no property rights, or for people to participate in catchment management if the rights relating to natural resources are not clearly defined.
Michiel believes that, by supporting men and women through Microjustice, companies and individuals come into a substantially better position to define development whether this regards economic, organizational, ecological, cultural or spiritual dimensions.
